Creating a shared Teams channel with Phaselaw Support
Last updated: February 27, 2026
Phaselaw Support can work with you directly in Microsoft Teams using a Shared Channel. This setup keeps support conversations in Teams while still allowing Phaselaw to securely connect the channel to our support system.
Do not create the shared channel in your own tenant and invite Phaselaw.
For the Phaselaw Teams support integration to work, the Shared Channel must be created in Phaselaw’s tenant, and Phaselaw must be the Team owner where the channel is created.
What your IT admin needs to enable
1. Allow your users to join external shared channels (Teams policy)
Your users who will participate must be allowed to join external shared channels via Teams policy. (This is commonly controlled in the Teams Admin Center.)
2. Configure Microsoft Entra “B2B direct connect” for Shared Channels
Teams Shared Channels across organizations rely on Microsoft Entra B2B direct connect and cross-tenant access settings. This requires configuration on both sides (your tenant and Phaselaw’s tenant).
From your side, this typically means:
In Microsoft Entra admin center → External Identities → Cross-tenant access settings
Add Phaselaw’s tenant
Our primary domain is phaselab.co
Our tenant ID is 77cfa43c-b2d4-4e07-9702-7a5bb6b37140
Configure Outbound access settings to allow B2B direct connect to Phaselaw
Note: Editing cross-tenant access settings generally requires an Entra role such as Security Administrator (Teams admins can often view but not change these settings). For further detail one this step, please refer to Microsoft's documentation.
3) Ensure Phaselaw isn’t blocked for external collaboration
If your organization uses allowlists/denylists for external orgs, ensure Phaselaw is allowed.
What to send to Phaselaw Support
Once your admin confirms the above is set, email Phaselaw with:
Your Microsoft 365 tenant domain
The email addresses of the initials users who should join the shared channel (you can always add additional users at a later time).
What happens next (Phaselaw action)
After we receive the above:
Phaselaw creates a new Teams Shared Channel in our tenant.
We invite your users into the shared channel using their Teams login emails.
Once accepted, you can message Phaselaw Support in that channel and we’ll respond there.
